Four-year-old Rimas from Hekr Al Jame'e in Deir Al Balah in the middle of the Gaza Strip liked to go to wedding parties and to dance. She was attending kindergarten. She liked to go to the beach. She liked to eat bananas. "She was very close to me, and I miss her so much,” said her grandmother.
On Sunday, 3 August 2014, at 6:15 am, the Atwa Al-Attar ' house, just behind Rimas' house, was targeted by Israeli war planes. Rimas was asleep in her bedroom. Concrete blocks fell on Rimas. She was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where she died.
