Obaida, 9, from Al-Da’wa, Al Nusirat in the middle of the Gaza Strip was an obedient, introverted, shy and sensitive child. He loved playing football and liked to wear FC Barcelona jerseys. His ambition was to be a professional football player. He was close to his father. He used to help his grandmother in raising and feeding her sheep.
On 22 July 2014, an Israeli drone missile hit the vicinity of the Abu Hweishel’s house. Obaida rushed to help. Another missile was fired at the gathering people. Obaida was killed instantly and his body was scattered around. His father carried him without knowing it was his son. He was shocked when the body was identified as his son. “I miss him so much. And his father cannot stay at home as his son Obaida is not there,” said his grandmother.
