Mohammed Kareem Al-Semiri, killed by Israeli forces at age 12, was a smart boy who did well at school. He was from Deir Al Balah. Mohammed used to help his mother around the house. He wanted to be a dentist when he grew up.
On 30 July 2014, his house was targeted by Israeli warplanes. As a result of the attack, a wall fell on Mohammed, killing him. His brother Ibrahim, aged 9, was also killed in the attack and his younger sister, Rasha, 8, lost her leg. The children’s mother, Hanyya, remains in a state of shock after having lost her sons. ‘We miss them all the time and I still see them next to me,’ she says.
