One and a half-year-old Malak from Block-12 in Al Buraij camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip was named by her grandmother, who she spent most of her time with. Malak was scared during the war. She was a beautiful child. She liked sweets and candies. She liked to play all the time. “She learned new things quickly and seemed a bit ahead of her age,” her father says.
At 7:30 pm on 1 August 2014, when many related families were gathered together, an Israeli warplane attacked without warning. The house was completely destroyed. Sixteen people were killed on the spot, including Malak. Many others were wounded.
