Name: Dalia Atwah Khattab
Date of Birth: 15 September 1998
Date of death: 3 August 2014
Dalia from Deir El Balah in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a calm, tender and smiley girl. She was good at school. She liked to go to the beach. She liked to drink sugar cane juice. “She used to play fight with her sister Safaa, and she would punish her by kissing her,” said her sister-in-law.
“At 6:15 am on 3 August 2014, two missiles from Israeli warplanes hit my house without any prior warning. I was sleeping. I woke up and heard the house starting to collapse,” said her brother. Nine persons were killed, including Dalia at the age of fifteen. “The death of my sister and my mother has left a huge vacuum in my life,” her brother added.
