At approximately 6:40 am on Wednesday 3 September 2014, Israeli gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats which were off the coast north and west of Al Waha area- near the maritime borders- west of Beit Lahiya in North Gaza City.
They confiscated one of the boats and arrested two fishermen were on its board: Mousa Talal Mousa As-Sultan, 25 and Mohammed Eshaq Mohammed Zayed, 18.
Some witnesses stated that the gunboat surrounded the boat and forced two fishermen were on its board to take off their clothes and swim toward the gunboat, and then arrested them and took them to an unknown place.
The fisherman Eshaq Mohammed Mohammed Zayed (the owner of the boat and the father of the detainee Mohammed) stated that IOF confiscated the boat and six fishing nets and fishing equipment (boxes and illumining lights) and confirmed that his son is engaged with an English exam to take the baccalaureate degree in 4 September 2014.
Al Mezan’s lawyer are following up the case.
Shooting was from two nautical miles from the coast.
