Israeli Gunboats Attack Fishermen, Hinder their Work, and Insult them in North Gaza District

At approximately 7:00 pm on Monday 5 May 2014, Israeli gunboats opened sporadic fire at Palestinian fishing boats which were in the Gaza Sea west of As-Sudaneyya and Al Waha areas in North Gaza district.
The shooting continued until 5:00 am on the next day, Tuesday 6 May 2014.
Fishermen abandoned their work and left the area.
No injuries or causalities were reported.
According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, Israeli navy used loudspeakers and verbally abused the fishermen during the shooting.
Fishermen were about 3 nautical miles near the illuminated buoys when the IOF opened fire at them.
As a result, Ashraf Sobhi Sa’dallah, 31, resident of Jabaliya refugee camp, lost 5 pieces of fishing nets and two of his light signs were damaged.
