At approximately 6:30 pm on Wednesday 30 April 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at rubble and scrap collectors who approached the borders west of Erez Crossing.
As a result, Mustafa Adeeb Dyad, 18, sustained a bullet wound in his right leg.
Medical sources at Kamal Odwan hospital described his injury as minor.
According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, Dyab was injured when he was few meters away from the separation fence.
It’s worth mentioning that rubble and scrap collectors move closer to the separation fence in order to collect greater amount of rubble to be recycled and sold again.
This is the main source of income for rubble collectors due to severe economic situation.
