On Monday, June 17th 2013, at approximately 7:15 pm, members of Gaza’s police force stormed into Ranoosh coffee shop, which is located on the first floor of al Shorooq Tower, in the middle of Al Rimal district, west of Gaza.
The police were leading a search for drugs, including Tramadol.
The police ordered the staff and customers to stand up where all of them were subjected to searches.
The police also stormed Al Karawan coffee shop on Omar Al Mokhtar St.
with similar acts following.
An older man was also hit in the face by police.
At approximately 8:20 pm on the same day, the same force broke into Al Swafere Arafat, and Istanbul coffee shops, which are located in Al Sheikh Ejleen neighborhood, and searched the customers for drugs.
A citizen from the Skaik family was subjected to severe hitting after he refused to be search.
The police did not have warrants for the inspections.
They eventually left.
