Short Link:
At approximately 10:00 am on Sunday 14 April 2013, about 300 of Palestinian Authority (PA) employees gathered in front of Bank of Palestine in protest against not receiving their salaries.
Employees at the Bank of Palestine informed the protestors that the Ministry of Finance in Ramallah did not transfer money for those who withdrew their salaries by virtue of power of attorney including those who reside outside the Gaza Strip.
According to information available to Al Mezan, about 7,500 employees did not receive their salaries for March 2013.
It’s worth noting that PA employees had organized two previous sit-ins on 9 and 10 April 2013 in protest against not receiving their salaries.
At the end of last week, the Ministry of Finance in Ramallah transferred salaries only for about 42 employees of the 7,500 employees.
