On Monday, 25 March 2013, at approximately 8:00 am, the Internal Security Apparatus in Gaza (ISA) summoned to its Gaza office, Bassam Zamel al-Wehedi, General Secretary of Print and Media Workers at the Federation for Palestinian Syndicates.
Al Wheidi is a resident of al-Saftawi area in northern Gaza, and is a member of the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate in Ramallah, the Arab Journalists’ Association, and the International Federation of Journalists.
Al Wehedi was released on Tuesday, 26 March 2013, at approximately 8:00 pm.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, he said that he was released due to his unstable medical condition since he suffers from loss of vision in one eye while he wears a contact lens on the other.
Al Wehedi was handed a summons to be reviewed on Thursday, 28 march 2013, and was briefly interrogated about his work with the Workers’ Syndicate and his political activity with the Fatah movement.
