At approximately 6:30 am on Tuesday 26 March 2013, civil defense teams recovered three persons as a gas canister exploded in the tunnel they were working in near Salah Ad-Din gate south of Rafah. Al Mezan has identified them as follows: Mahmoud ‘Ilyian Al ‘Adeeni, 20; Amer Kamal Khammash, 20; and Tayseer Mohammed Abu ‘Iweli, 32. They were admitted to Abu Yousif An- Najjar Hospital to receive treatment where medical sources described their injuries as critical.
