At approximately 9:00 pm on Sunday 2 July 2012, the Internal Security Apparatus arrested Zakariya Sa‘eed Ahmad Shabat, 25 years old, as he was on his way back to his house in Beit Hanoun, North Gaza district.
Shabat was taken to an unknown location while a force from the Security Apparatus searched his home and confiscated a computer.
The background to the incident remains unclear, though it is worth noting that the young man is a Fatah activist.
