At 4:40 pm on Wednesday 28 March 2012, a group of people identifying themselves as members of the Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, and the Internal Security Apparatus stopped three journalists and their driver as they were taking footage of one of the orange fields near the Paris Resort in the At-Tuffah neighborhood of east Gaza City.
The force took the journalists first to a military site and then to the Apparatus office at the Ansar compound in western Gaza City.
They were interrogated about their reasons for being in an area classified as a “security zone” in which photography is forbidden.
The Apparatus confiscated their cameras, the press card of the Palestinian journalist, and the ID card of the driver.
At approximately 6:00 pm on the same day, the Apparatus released them after taking the email login and password of the Palestinian journalist.
The journalists are Cecilia Uddén, who works for a Swedish TV channel; Alexandra (last name not known to Al Mezan); and Sami Mohammed Abu Salim.
