At midnight on Saturday 24 September 2011, Sa’eed Mahmoud Mohammed Al‘Aila, 49, died while receiving medical treatment at Shifa hospital in Gaza City. According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, on 16 May 2011, the Internal Security Apparatus detained Sa’eed Al ‘Aila from his house in Jabaliya refugee camp, in North Gaza district, and detained him at Gaza Central Prison in Gaza City.
