Some main electricity transmission lines that provide electricity to wide areas in the Gaza Strip and exported from Israel are broken.
The crisis came up after the outbreak of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Thursday 7 April 2011.
According to Mr.
Jamal Ad-Derdesawi, the director of public relations and information at the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company, the main lines that provide electricity to the Gaza Strip from Israel were broken; the company has managed to fix some of them.
He added that the problem has exacerbated due to the inability to coordinate with the Israeli side to allow Palestinian technicians to reach areas near the borders to fix the lines.
