Kerosene Stove Kills Three Children in Beit Lahyia

At approximately 10pm on Saturday 26 February 2011, the dead bodies of Nariman, Mohammed, and Hadia Mustafa Subeh (15, 4, and 2 respectively) were admitted to Kamal Odwan Hospital in North Gaza district.
Medical sources said that the children died from severe burns.
Their mother, Laila Ibrahim Subeh, 40, also sustained severe burns in different parts of the body.
Medical sources described her injury as moderate.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, a fire erupted at the house of Mustafa Subeh, which is located near the Islamic Society in the Al Ghboun neighborhood in Beit Lahyia town in North Gaza district, when kerosene drops was dropped on the ground while Nariman was making tea for her siblings using a kerosene stove.
Many families in Gaza have been forced to use the kerosene burner stoves for cooking as Israel imposes a siege on the Gaza Strip and continues to reduce cooking gas supplies to Gaza Strip.
   The police initiated an investigation into the incident.
The police reported that the three dead bodies of the children were referred for the Shifa Hospital in Gaza for forensic examination.
The house was partially damaged due to the explosion.
The father and his elder son lost their consciousness.
