9:30am on Sunday 3 October 2010, about 50 schoolchildren from the Abdel Malik Ibn Marwan Primary School in Gaza city were admitted to the Shifa Hospital in the city for suspicions of food poisoning.
Reports suggest that the children were given packs of milk under a nutrition program run by a UN agency.
Medical tests were carried out to the students.
48 students left the hospital and two of them still there under medical observation.
According to Al Mezan's initial investigation, in the afternoon hours on Saturday 2 October 2010, milk packs were delivered to the school to be distributed for 649 children on the next day.
At approximately 9am on Sunday 3 October 2010, the milk was distributed.
About 30 minutes later, children started to feel sick and many of them vomited.
The school administration called the hospital and ambulances arrived and carried dozens of children to the Shifa Hospital in Gaza city.
Parents hurried to the school to ask about their children.
Al Mezan obtained a sample of the milk packs that were given to the children.
The expiry date that appeared on it was 24 February 2011.
