9:30pm on Thursday 9 September 2010, an explosive device exploded at a police checkpoint near the Al Ansar mosque in the town of Deir Al Balah in the middle of the Gaza Strip.
As a result, two policemen were injured.
The explosion caused panic among people in the area.
Al Mezan identified the names of injured persons as follows:
· Mohammed Ramadan Fatayir, 23, and
· Sharif Issa Abu Mashayikh, 22.
Medical sources described their injuries as moderate.
The police opened an investigation into the incident.
