For the second consecutive month, the Gaza internal security apparatus continued to summon Fatah activists and members in the North Gaza District.
In the evening hours of Thursday 7 July 2010, the Gaza Government's security apparatus summoned 34 Fatah activists and members to its office in Jabalia refugee camp.
The summoned persons went to the apparatus office and they were given different appointments to appear at the apparatus office.
Some of the summoned persons were summoned more than once and others were summoned daily.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, the internal security apparatus no longer uses the mobile narrow cells for detaining the summoned persons.
In their affidavits to Al Mezan, the summoned persons said that they were detained in portable toilets used as detention cells.
These cells are two meters long and 80cm wide and between three and four persons were detained in each cell.
When Large numbers of detainees were detained in a hall in front of the interrogation rooms and blindfolded.
During detention, the security apparatus did not interrogate the detainees and did not provide food and water to them.
The duration of the detention varied from one detainee to another.
Some of the detainees were detained until the afternoon, evening, or midnight.
