3am on Saturday 13 February 2010, unknown persons detonated a picture of the founder of the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP); George Habbash, in Beir An-Na'ja in Jabalia in the North Gaza District.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, several years ago some activists of the PFLP eructed a square called Abu Ali Mostafa Square in that area.
They hanged pictures of Gorge Habbash, Abu Ali Mostafa, the former secretary general of the PFLP, and Ahmed Sa'dat the current secretary general of PFLP.
Few days ago, the monument was attacked and picture of George Habbash was defaced by black paint.
According to police forces, the perpetrators put a small explosive device on the picture and detonated it.
