On 6 April 2007 at app. 6.30pm, gunmen stopped the car of Rasem Al Bayari, 49, Vice-president of Labor Syndicates' Union in Gaza, while driving with his family close to the Gaza's European Hospital. The gunmen men forced Al Bayari family out of the car, seized it and fled. Al Bayari was transferred to Al Quds hospital after being injured in the neck by shrapnel. No available information on the identity of the perpetrators.
