As a result of old problems between two families, tens of gunmen broke into and set fire to four commercial businesses owned by the Al Masri family in central Khan Younis at app. 21:00 on the 7th of May 2007. The gunmen prevented civil defense vehicles from accessing the stores to extinguish the fire. The stores were completely burnt as a result.
