Armed clashes erupted at app. 18:30 on the 9th of June 2007 between members of a political faction and armed men, as the latter group attempted to kidnap Ahmed Abu Al Amarin, 24, a Force 17 member, while he was standing close to a Fateh office in the An Nasir neighborhood of Gaza. Two bystanders were injured in the resulting crossfire.
