On 10 June 2007, at app. 17:30, Armed men besieged the house of Dr. Alaa Adel Ar Rifati, the Dean of the faculty of business in the Islamic University, close to Al Abbas police station in Gaza. The armed men opened intensive fire at the house and kidnapped Ar Rifati's brother, Mohammed, 30, Imam of Al Abbas mosque, who died later as the armed men shot him in his abdomen and two legs.
