1:15am, on 24/1/2008, an IOF special unit entered Al Shouka village in eastern Rafah, a town on the southern border of the Gaza Strip.
The unit was backed by a number of military vehicles and raided many houses.
Seventy-two citizens were detained, and they were taken to an unknown destination.
They withdrew approximately four hours later, at app.
5am.

7pm, that same day, the IOF released all the detainees after forcing them to change into coveralls.
They subjected them to an investigation.
Jihad Abu Sanima, 23, is the only one who remains under detention.
