Short Link:
On 22/3/2008, workers in the Janitors Department of the Jabalia Municipality went on strike to protest against not receiving their salaries.
As a result, garbage has accumulated at the doors of homes, in front of public institutions, and in town squares.
The Workers Committee in the Municipality decided to intensify their protest.
They threatened total suspension of their work in Municipality buildings and other departments by 10am on 25/3/2008 if their issues were not solved.
The major grievance stated by the workers in a publication issued on 24/3/2008 was the lack of regular payment of their salaries using a reliable and credible system.
