At app. 10:40am, on 17 April 2008, medical sources in Al Arish Hospital in Egypt announced the death of 21-year-old Mohammed Nour Ahmed Al Motuakeq. At app. 1:00pm that same day, the death of Abd Allah Mahmouad Salman was also announced. They both died from injuries they sustained in an internal explosion that occurred on 13 April 2008 in a home in Jabalia. On 16 April 2008, they were transferred to Egypt for treatment.
