Short Link:
The IOF closed Erez Crossing on Wednesday morning, 5 November 2008, and prevented patients and their travel mates, journalists, foreigners, staff of international organizations and those seeking to travel across Allenby Bridge from travelling.
The IOF claims the border was closed after a few rockets were fired into Israel.
Field investigations say that officers of the Civil Affairs' coordination office nearby the Crossing were surprised that the border was closed in the morning.
They were not allowed to access their offices and stayed with other patients and passengers opposite to al-Qadissia Gas Station, 200 meters away from the customs junction leading to Erez.
It is unknown if the Crossing will be open or remain closed.
This action comes after the IOF breached the ceasefire when its troops penetrated into different areas to the east of Deir el-BalahDistrict and Khan Younis.
