On Thursday, 9 February 2017, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights held an awareness-raising workshop titled “Eliminating Violence” for a group of student parliamentarians from UNRWA Rafah Primary School for Girls ‘C’. The workshop was held at Al Mezan’s office in Rafah.
Yahiya Mhareb, lawyer at Al Mezan, presented a summary of the main types of violations against children in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing violence against children. He laid out the root cause of the various forms of violence and methods of addressing this concern, particularly using the Palestinian Child Law No. 7 of 2004 and Amended Palestinian Basic Law.
The workshop was held as part of Al Mezan’s joint work with UNRWA, aims at protecting, respecting and fulfilling human rights, particularly children rights, in the Gaza Strip.
