In Separate Incidents Two Children Killed and an Infant and his Father were Injured; Al Mezan Regrets and Calls for Investigation

Reference:Date: 9 May 2010 Two children were killed and a father and his infant son were injured in three separate incidents between 6 and 8 May 2010.
Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights regrets the causalities and calls on the Gaza Government to investigate these incidents.

2:40am on Saturday 8 May 2010, the dead body of Jihad Suliman Salman Ghniem, 18, was admitted to Shuhada' Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah.
The body was referred to Shifa Hospital for forensic examination.
According to his affidavit to Al Mezan, the father Suliman Salman Ghniem said that on Thursday evening 6 May 2010, his son left the house and didn't return.

4am on Saturday 8 May 2010, one of his neighbors informed him about the death of his son Handala.

12:30am on Friday 7 May 2010, Barziali Medical Centre in Israel announced the death of Handala Said Eid, 17, who lives in the An-Nusirat refugee camp.

11pm on Tuesday 4 May 2010, Eid was stabbed in the neck at a wedding party.
He was admitted to Shuhada' Al Aqsa Hospital and referred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza city.
Then he was referred to Bazilai Medical Centre in Israel.
Members of the Eid family opened fire in the sky near an area where the Fanona family lives.
As a result, the Fanona family left their house under police watch.

10pm on Thursday 6 May 2010, Qusai Mahmoud Mohammed D'abas, 1.
5, and his father, 25, were injured when a locally made explosive device (locally known as Aklam) exploded.
The father and his son were at a wedding party for the As-Sayid family in Kanada neighborhood in the Tal As-Sultan area, west of Rafah.
The father and his son were admitted to Abu Yousif An-Najar.
The child was later referred to the European Gaza Hospital and his medical condition was described as critical.
The police opened an investigation into the incident.
This kind of Aklam is usually used at wedding parties as fireworks.
  Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights expresses its strong regret for the death of two children and the injury of the infant.
Al Mezan calls on the Gaza police to continue  its investigations.
Al Mezan calls for appropriate procedures to be taken to prevent the use of locally made explosive devices and to bring perpetrators to justice.
