At 02:00pm on Friday, 26 January 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders, into the southeast of Al Burij camp, opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of demonstrators who went out to publicly protest the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as a capital of Israel. Demonstrators burnt tires and threw stones at Israeli forces behind the borders. Three demonstrators were injured during Israeli shooting at the protest: Raed Abd Al Aziz Al Bordini, 24, resident of Al Zawayda village, sustained a bullet wound in his right thigh; Mohammed Khalid Abdallah Abu Zbeida, 24, resident of AL Bureij camp, sustained a bullet wound in his left knee; and Shhada Mohammed Shhada Al Abweinyi, 24, resident of Al Nusairat, sustained a bullet wound in his left knee.  PRCS ambulances rushed the wounded demonstrators to Shuhada Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah, where their injuries were diagnosed to range from light to moderate.  Clashes continued until 06:30 on the same day.
