Al Mezan Expresses Sorrow for the Death of Maha Abu Dayya

The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights received with great sorrow the news of the passing of our friend and colleague human rights defender Maha Abu Dayya.
Al Mezan express our deep sorrow at the big loss and extend our deepest condolences to her family and colleagues.
Issam Younis, on behalf of Al Mezan's Board of Directors and Al Mezan's staff, extends his condolences to the Women's Center for Legal Aid and Counseling for this loss.
Maha was one of the most passionate human rights defenders in Palestine and a respectable leader in the women's rights movement.
She was the founder and director of Women's Center for Legal Aid and Counseling.
She contributed in defending rights of Palestinian women and human rights in general.
She contributed in founding Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council; a forum where all Palestinian human rights NGOs come together to coordinate and lead the human rights movement in Palestine.
She was a leading voice in PHROC.
She was also elected a commissioner at the Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights last year.
Maha will always be remembered and cherished for her great and lasting achievements.
