6 January 2012
At approximately 2:50 pm on Friday 6 January 2012, a Fatah delegation consisting of Rawhi Fattouh and Ismail Jaber, president Abbas’s consultants, and Mohammad Al Madani and Sakher Bsesio, members of Fatah’s Central Committee, returned to the West Bank after waiting for the Palestinian police stationed at Erez crossing to allow them to enter the Gaza Strip.
The delegation was supposed to enter Gaza to conduct meetings and dialogues in the context of the ongoing efforts to achieve Palestinian reconciliation on the ground.
Accounts differed as to how long the delegation had waited at the crossing.
