Al Mezan expresses it concern over the recent escalation of the IOF offensive against Palestinians civilians in the OPT.
The IOF have committed two crimes in Rafah inflicting 31 causalities in less than two hours.
Further, the IOF penetrated eastern Khoza'a town in eastern Khan Younis, killing one Palestinian, and injuring three others.
The number of Palestinian victims of last night's attacks is 5 killed and 29 injured.
According to Al Mezan field information, on 5 September, at approximately 21:26, IOF scouting jets targeted a civilian car in Saddam Street, in Al Jineina neighborhood of Rafah, killing Ahmed Abd Al Karim Ashour, 27, and Ahmed Abd Al Karim Al Arqan, 34, and injuring 25 others, including 6 children under the age of 18.
At approximately 23:20, IOF scouting jets resumed their attacks in the same area, shelling a civilian car in Saddam Street.
Aa'id Abd Al Qader Al Bashiti, 33, and Ali Isa Al Nashar, 26 were killed, and one passer-by was reported injured.
Further, on 6 September, at approximately 3:30 am, 25 military vehicles deployed in Um Al Wad area and the area surrounding the Eastern Cemetery in eastern Khoza'a town, east of Khan Younis.
According to the center's field sources, these forces penetrated one Kilometer into agricultural land in the area under extensive fire.
Furthermore, on the same day, at approximately 4:00 am, an Israeli scouting jet, shelled a two-story house owned by Mohammed Salem Abu Reida in Um Al Wad area in Khan Younis.
The house was entirely destroyed and was inhabited by 12 individuals.
The shelling resulted in the killing of Mohammed Fawzi Abu Reida, and the injury of Omar Mohammed Salem Abu Reida, 18, Mohammed Ahmed Abu Reida, 19, and Mohammed Suliaman Abu Reida, 22.
During the invasion of eastern Khan Younis, the IOF detained 3 Palestinians including, Major Ra'id Abu Rjeila, from the National Security Apparatus.
Moreover, the IOF continue to apply collective punishment against Palestinians, though maintaining closure of the Gaza Strip, preventing Palestinians passengers, including patients, from entering or exiting the Gaza Strip through Rafah Crossing.
The closure of Karni Crossing has badly affected the Palestinians as it is the sole economic crossing though which goods are imported and exported.
Al Mezan strongly condemns the escalating IOF offensive against Palestinian civilians, and emphasizes that the extra-judicial killings, the arbitrary shelling, and the policy of collective punishment are grave breaches of International Humanitarian Law, most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
Thus, Al Mezan calls upon the international community, notably the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to urgently intervene, to halt this humanitarian crises, end Israeli violations and provide international protection to Palestinian civilians and their property in the OPT.
it also demands the UN Human Rights Council take serious steps towards ending human rights violations in the OPT.
