At 4:30pm on Thursday, 8 March 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Deir Al Balah in the Middle Area governorate opened fire towards farmlands bordering the separation fence. According to field monitoring, shooting continued sporadically for about 60 minutes, forcing farmers to stop their work and escape their farms. No casualties were reported.
