At approximately 5:00 pm on Friday, 21 October 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of Palestinian young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. As a result, Omar Mohammed Mustafa Arafa, 55, sustained a bullet wound in his right leg and he was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital. The shooting lasted until 7:00 pm on the same day.
