At approximately 12:00 am on Wednesday, 19 October 2016, unknown armed men opened fire at the entrance of the house of Al Sheikh Mahmoud Abd Al Azeiz Jouda, 56. The house is located in Al Khamsein St., in Al Shouka village, eastern Rafah. No injuries were reported. A force from the field control unit along with the investigation unit and the internal security arrived at the scene. The police found 12 empty bullets. According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the armed men were driving a motorcycle, one of them opened fire from a Kalashnikov. The reasons behind the incident are still unknown. It’s worth mentioning that Al Shiekh was arrested on Sunday, 18 September 2016, by the internal security on the background of a religious opinion. He was released on Sunday, 16 October 2016, from Qasr Al Hakem detention center in Gaza.
