IOF Injures Two Palestinian Children Eastern Al Bureij Refugee Camp

At approximately 5:30 on Friday, 16 September 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at a tens of Palestinian young men and children who were near  the separation fence, east of Al Bureij refugee camp. They were participating in a popular event   to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank.

According to Al Mezan’s field investigation, four Israeli jeeps approached the borders and a number of soldiers got off the jeeps  and positioned behind the sand berms. Some of the participants couldn’t breathe due to inhaling the gas and two children sustained injuries, Nour Al Dein Maher Mohammed Al Refa’e, 17, sustained a bullet wound in his right shoulder and right thigh, and Fayeq Yousif Hasan Al Maqadma, 17, sustained a bullet wound in his left thigh. They were both admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital, and there injuries were described as moderate. The shooting  lasted until 7:20 pm on the same day.
