At approximately 4:00 pm on Friday, 16 September 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The shooting continued until 6:30 pm on the same day. As a result, one Palestinian sustained a bullet wound in his right leg.
