An approximately 12:00 pm on Tuesday, 22 December 2015, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at a Palestinian woman who approached the separation fence east of the town of Kuzza’a near Khan Younis. As a result, the woman was injured and a number of people and paramedics tried to reach her but the IOF opened fire at them. Coordination between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Israeli side was made to allow paramedics to get close to the woman and rescue her. The woman was admitted to the Gaza European Hospital where she was identified as Maysaa Wajih Mohammed Al Nimnim, 28, a resident of Al Shaimaa neighborhood in Beit Lahiya, in north Gaza district. Maysaa sustained bullet wounds in the abdomen and pelvis. Her injury was described as critical and she stayed at the intensive care unit as she was left bleeding for 30 minutes.
