At approximately 6:30 am on Sunday 25 May 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a group of scrap and rubble collectors who were near the borders west of Erez crossing.
As a result, Mohammed Mazen Al Kafarna, 19, sustained a bullet wound in his left leg, and medical sources in Kamal Odwan hospital described his injury as moderate.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, Al Kafarna was injured while he was about 100 meters away from the border fence west of the Crossing.
His friends who were there carried him by a cart to the police station and from there an ambulance carried him to the hospital.
He arrived to the hospital at 7:00 am.
