Legal Assistance Director at Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights Mervat al-Nahal said their department would follow the case, and called for a serious inquiry by the Ministry of Health.
Under the Palestinian penal code, al-Nahal explained, a lack of intent to harm as found by the committee does not take away criminal responsibility.
If negligence or recklessness is proved, the penalty is up to three years in jail, she said.
