The Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) condemns the increase in the use of air strikes on civilian areas and objects in Libya by the Al Gaddafi militia.
These attacks have targeted large areas in the cities of Ras Lanuf and Brega.
In addition the Gaddafi’s forces have fired artillery shells and mortars at these two cities and in the cities of Bin Jawad and Az-Zawiya.
AOHR field sources emphasized that the air strikes have expanded from targeting ammunition and fuel stores to targeting civilian inhabited area.
They have also targeted medical supplies in the above-mentioned cities.
According to the AOHR field sources, the Gaddafi’s militia has committed state terrorism crimes in Tripoli particularly in Tagowaa and other suburban areas.
These crimes have included the cold blood killing of civilians.
The AOHR expresses its deep concern for the UN Security Council's inaction to impose a no-fly zone over Libya to prevent Gaddafi from using warplanes to attack civilians and prevent the flow of foreigner mercenaries without military intervention on the ground.
Similar resolutions were not delayed when the international community accused Gaddafi of bombing “Pan AM” and “Youta” airplanes over Scotland and the Sahara desert.
The AOHR asserts that the Libyan people will not forgive the international community for its failure to make a resolution at the appropriate time in order to put an end to the killing of civilians.
The AOHR calls on the Transitional National Council (TNC) to work to stop the popular chases of African residents and migrants who have nothing to do with the mercenaries that Gaddafi and his supporters brought and are using.
It also calls on the TNC to provide save paths in areas under the TNC control to facilitate the departure of African residents and migrants from Libya.
For its side, the AOHR is currently working on compiling what it had documented and related to crimes against humanity committed by Gaddafi in the past four decades to submit them to the International Criminal Court.
The AOHR calls on concerned human rights organizations around the world to take similar procedures.
