At approximately 11am on Wednesday 24 November 2010, the Court of First Instance of Khan Younis sentenced to death Mohammed Jameel Mohammed Abdeen, 20.
He was sentenced to death by hanging after being convicted of killing the child Abdullah Mahmoud Abdullah Abu Mua'mmar, 11.
The panel of judges was led by Judge Ziyad Thabet, and Akram Kulab and Ahmed An-Nweiri as members.
On Thursday 29 July 2010, Abdullah Mahmoud Abdullah Abu Mua'mmar, 11, went to a wedding party near his house in the An-Nasser village north of Rafah town.
His family lost contact with him and they informed the police.
The police initiated an investigation into the incident and arrested two suspected persons.
At approximately 12:20pm on Sunday 31 July 2010, the police found the dead body of the child Abu Mua'mmar buried in an open field in the An-Nasser village.
Forensic examination confirmed that the body was for the child.
According to the investigations, the child was beaten and strangulated to death before being buried.
