At app. 12.30 on 23 may 2009, Medical sources at Abu Yousif An-Najjar announced the death of Hamdi Ismail Abu Jarad, 17, from Jabalia Refugee Camp, and Abd Al-Hameed Na'im Abu Salah, 23, from Gaza City, as a result of the collapse of a tunnel on top of them in Al-Barazil Neighborhood in Rafah, close to the borderline with Egypt. This brings the total number of people killed in tunnel incidents since 2006 to 86, including 25 in 2009 only.
