On 5 September, at approximately 11:35 am, Salem Mohammed Al Salqawi, 14, was injured as a result of the explosion of a suspected object in Deir Al Balah. According to field information, the boy was playing with the object before it exploded. Further, on the same day, at approximately 13:40, 15 year-old Ahmed Talal Abu Bakra was injured by shrapnel as he had thrown a suspected object in fire
