On 16 June 2007, at app.
16:30, a group of armed men intercepted the way of some citizens were trying to escape to Eriz checkpoint in order to leave the Gaza Strip.
The citizens were taken to Beit Hanoun Police Station and some of them were released later.
Others were transferred to the Civil Administration Office, but were released the next day.
This action was repeated several times on the same day, particularly after setting up a roadblock at Al Jamarik Junction which leads to Eriz.
