On 18/12/2007, medical sources in Al Shifaa Hospital in Gaza announced the death of Aml Younis Sobeih, 36, as a result of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip which prevented access of medicine and medial equipment.
The rigid and procrastination measures undertaken by the Israeli Authorities have greatly contributed to deterioration of the health conditions of Palestinian patients who seek medical treatments in hospitals outside the Gaza Strip.
Sobeih suffered from pulmonary fibrosis for five years, and her condition badly deteriorated lately due to severe shortages of medicine.
She received a medical transfer to an Israeli hospital in Tel Aviv to undergo medical treatment, but died as the IOF procrastinated the issuance of her clearance to Israel.
