The Massacre Continues: The Israeli Occupation Forces Perpetrate a New Massacre on the Palestinian Civilians and their Possessions In Khan Yunis City.

The belligerent Israeli occupation forces continue to use lethal force on the Palestinian civilians and target civilian premises and residential areas with shelling and destruction causing great losses among the civilians and their property.
These forces escalated their aggression against the Palestinian civilians yesterday, 10/4/2001, when they shelled Palestinian security offices with remote control ground-to-ground missiles.
The Sudaniya Office, the headquarters of the Palestinian Naval Forces in Gaza, suffered from heavy shelling which led to the destruction of a large part of the building and large material losses.
The shelling led to the death of the doctor and first lieutenant Wail Khawatir, 28-years-old, as a result of a wound in the stomach caused by missile shrapnel.
The shell also led to the injury of the colonel and doctor who works for the military medical services, Ghasan Anbatawi, 55-years-old, his ten-year old daughter who fainted, and Tahir Yaqub Ayash, 25-years-old wounded with shrapnel on his right thigh.
The shelling of the Military Intelligence Offices in Dir al-Balah and the area around the Office led to the injury of: Nabil ar-Rantisi, 35-years-old, shrapnel in the head, from Dir al-Balah.

Hani abu Hani, 36-years-old, broken legs, from an-Nasr in Gaza City.

The same day at around 20,30 in the evening these forces shelled the State Security Office and a mosque near the Martyrs Cemetery to the East of Gaza City.
The mosque suffered the shelling immediately after the people had completed the al-Asha Prayers.
After midnight last night these forces heavily, randomly and unprecedently shelled the Tufah Crossing in Khan Yunis which led to the death of two civilians: Ilyas Aid, 40-years-old, injured in his head by shrapnel.
Hani Abu Rizq, 25-years-old, injured in his head by shrapnel.
Around 50 other Palestinian civilians were injured and a large number of the residential houses near the Tufah Crossing in Khan Yunis bulldozed and destroyed without allowing the civilian to evacuate them.
Tens of families were left homeless.

The shelling causes heavy damages to the houses of the following civilians: Abdullah Shiriki Salim Abu Ubayda (Shelling completely destroyed the house).

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation forces closed completely all the roads leading to Muwasi Rafah and Khan Yunis which isolated the Mawasi area completely from the outside world and caused heavy losses.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights warns of the continuation of the crimes perpetrated by the belligerent Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian land and in the light of this dangerous escalation of violence we would like to demand the following: The International Community must immediately provide protection for the Palestinian civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
In this context, the UN Security Council is requested to immediately send a team of International Human Rights Observers to the Occupied Palestinian Territories in to monitor the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian civilians.
The European Union, which will revise its Partnership Agreement with Israel during its next session in May, should cancel this agreement.
The High Contracting Parties of the 4th Geneva Convention must immediately hold a conference to discuss ways that guarantee: The application of the Convention in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
The fulfillment of the legal obligations of the Parties.
Demands the international community to fulfill the legal obligations to in accordance with international law by pursuing the Israeli war criminals and bringing them to justice.
